Angel in
Disguise
Blessed were you
child
from the moment of your birth,
for it was then God endowed
you
with your own guardian
angel on earth.
You may not realize where
she came from,
for she was sent in clever
disguise.
The golden light of her halo
is hidden behind her
gentle eyes.
When she takes you in her
warm embrace
to soothe the bitter hurt sorrow
brings,
she kisses away your fallen
tears
and secretly wraps you in
her wings.
You may not recall the
pearly gates
but you surely have been
there,
for she lifts you up to Heaven each
evening
while on her knees in
prayer.
Remember to say "thank
you" tonight
to our gracious Lord above,
for granting you the timeless
honor
of your dear grandmother's
love.
