Dancing Beneath a Blue Moon
It has been said
that the world is a ballroom,
and life is a
dance.
The hope for
finding one's soul mate,
is told to be a once in a blue moon's
chance.
I remember the day you extended your
hand,
and offered to take
me for a whirl.
For a brief moment
in time, all other dancers faded away.
It was just you and me, one boy, and one
girl.
I felt myself floating across the ballroom
floor;
my feet were
dancing on air.
In your arms was
everywhere I wanted to be;
I surrendered my heart to your
care.
You instantly swept me away,
to the tune of love
songs I had never heard before.
You filled me with
a hunger for life;
I wanted to dance with you forever
more.
You sang sweet nothings against my
ear,
and I melted into
your embrace.
The only sight my
eyes searched for then
was the tender love revealed in your
face.
If life is a dance with a once in a blue
moon's chance
for finding our one
love that is true,
I sing a prayer of
praise to the Ballroom Architect
for granting me
this dance with you.
