Heartbeat
During those
moments between us two
when I am lying
beside you,
gently disturbing
the silence so sweet,
I can hear the
echo of your heartbeat.
Your soft sighs
whisper like a melody.
I hear you breathe
while lying beside me.
Serenely
surrendering to night’s air,
I lay and listen,
holding you there.
Simple yet
majestic, sensual yet pure,
thank God for the
favor of married love’s lure!
I kiss you
carefully then join you in sleep,
lulled by the
soothing rhythm of your heartbeat.
