Our Family
Carousel
While the carousel turns
round as we abide,
I am honored that we could
be together for this carousel ride.
The melody of our
childhood echoes in my memory,
the beginning of this ride
for you and me.
We were together through
all of life's little ups and downs,
laughter, smiles, tears,
and frowns.
Precious moments in time
that were abound,
until that was lost to
another carousel round.
Now we are apart with
thriving young families of our own.
One of the bittersweet
blessings of being grown.
When our families are
together, my heart swells with pride.
Joy from watching them
So precious are the
moments we are able to steal from time,
and bring our families
together for a brief chime.
The carousel will again
turn round,
and all too soon in our
place our children will be found.
Apart with thriving young
families of their own.
One of the bittersweet
blessings of having them grown.
I pray they too will
treasure each moment in time
that they are able to come
together for a brief chime.
I just wanted you to know,
before my ride is through,
how much my family and I
love all of you.
