The Teacher’s
Prayer
Our Father, Lord
of this school,
help us with the
lessons today.
The students come,
mathematics will
be done,
in preparation for
those tests again.
Give us children
that actually pay attention.
And forgive us our
exasperated sighs,
as we forgive
those with sloppy handwriting.
And lead us not
into forgotten homework
but deliver us
from bad grammar.
For ours are the
bright,
and the smart and
the well educated.
As we wait for the
day’s final bell.
Amen.
