Treasures in
Heaven
But lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither
moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where
thieves do not break through nor steal.
~ Matthew 6:20
KJV
Oh, that sweet
Holy Land where God’s people will soon reside,
when our precious
Jesus comes to claim His bride.
There is a great
treasure box, I have been told,
overflowing with
priceless pieces that would take a thousand men to hold.
The magnificent
beauty of these jewels are far beyond
compare.
They sit waiting
for their owner to come claim them there.
Neither dust nor
tarnish can find them to harm their brilliant
shine.
They were
individually handcrafted with love by our dear
Divine.
The heir to these
treasures was chosen by our Lord at birth,
and preparation
for the inheritance was taught here on
earth.
Skills were
carefully instilled and sharpened over
time,
for no ordinary
individual could care for valuables so
sublime.
Organization and
counting expertise was definitely a must,
and above all
there had to be an unconditional degree of
trust.
The place of
training was chosen with oh so careful measure,
and thus you
became our Church Treasurer.
