You Must Be
Missed
I know you must be
missed by your old hometown.
It cannot be quite
the same without you around.
I thought about
sending them a letter so that they could
see
how much I
appreciate them for lending you to me.
I would tell them
of the impact you have had on my life,
of how you knelt
with me in prayer during times of strife.
I would tell them
of the warmth in the light of your smile.
Thanking them yet
again for lending you to me for a while.
I would tell them
of how impossible you are to replace.
I know they must
miss being able to see your kind face.
I would tell them
of how you have always been there,
and how you always
showed me pure, genuine care.
I would tell them
that you are truly a priceless treasure.
Of your worth to
me, there is no measure.
I would close my
letter with an undying thank you.
For in my heart I
know Heaven must really miss you.
